This historic site was named for its Goa ruler's daughter, Dona Paula de Menezes, who was born during the colonial administration. Dona Paula was a lovely lady. She was in love with a fisherman from the Goa area, so she married him, but her father rejected his lover, and she fell off the cliff. Today, Goans tell ghost stories about Dona Paula and refer to it as the "lovers' heaven" of Goa. The area's attractiveness is the long stretch of beach filled with enormous palm palms. Dona Paula Beach is also where two rivers, the Zuari and the Mandovi, meet, making it a fantastic spot for swimming. Area to capture great photographs. Tourists go to this seashore to see the whitewashed sculpture known as the "Image of India," which symbolises both Mother India and Young India.
